When I needed to leave for a week to attend a family wedding in another country, I was unsure as to which boarding service I should use to take care of my elderly dog who needed special attention. After some discussion with fellow dog owners in my neighbourhood, it became quite clear that GoDogWalk was the unanimous choice. I returned from my trip to a very happy, well-groomed, and washed dog, which was extremely relieving for me to see. Even to this day, when I bump into Chris and David at the dog park, I have trouble getting my dog to leave because he just loves them so much. Chris and David are both kind and wonderful people with a genuine love for dogs, and I would highly recommend their services.
GoDogWalk offers the best range of services of any of the dogwalking companies in my neighbourhood. But that's not why I like them. I like them because they describe themselves as 'dog nerds' — guys who just like spending all their spare time with dogs. That's the kind of person I want taking care of my dog when I can't be around. Let's hear it for the dog nerds!
The biggest testiment as to how well our dog is treated during his stays is evident in how excited he gets when they show up at our door or when he drags us towards their home if drop him off. We couldn't have asked for things to work out better for the three of us.
Our experience (now many experiences) with GoDogWalk has been better than we ever could have hoped for. My husband and I recently acquired our first dog, a lovely golden retriever whom we expected would require our full attention. Understandably, this would mean losing touch with some of our friends whose lifestyles did not suit a dog e.g. boating and weekend get aways. We weren't comfortable with the idea of putting him in a kennel- and didn't really know what other options were available. A friend recommended we try a home-based boarding/walking outfit and gave us Christopher and David's number.
I was impressed that they wanted to meet us and Bailey together and separately (taking Bailey for a walk), before agreeing to take him into their home. We were new in the 'dog owner' world and impressed by how professional they were in making sure our dog meshed well with them and their own two dogs. I'd be lying if I didn't say we were nervous the first time we left Bailey, having not left him with anyone else before, friends and family included. We had conflicting 'out- of -town' obligations and were more than touched when we both received e-mailed pictures, while we were away, describing how Bailey was doing in our absence. Am sure one of the pictures showed a smirk on Bailey's face while he raced along Kits beach.
I was much relieved to see our dog having such fun with the other dogs at GoDogWalk. As we had hoped, Bailey was both relaxed and exhausted when we collected him a few days later. The charge for this personal care was so reasonable, it never became an issue for us. Not only have we found their services to be professional and friendly, but also informative and very reassuring that our dog is in good hands while we are away.
